All this has let me understand that, should you have a dream, you should pay it some attention. If you just take that initial step, you never know where your life will go.
You have to defend and safeguard your aspirations even after you start those initial steps until you make some movement toward them. Naysayers and pessimists passing for "realists" abound in the world. Although your family and even your closest friends may put your best interests first, they will cause uncertainty in your mind and force you to follow society's script and slide back to the usual.
I know I would never have come to Japan if I had allowed people inside my thoughts years ago, to create enough uncertainty in my mind. I would never have started shooting Drift Hunters , had many life-changing experiences, or built the location where I revealed the real-live Initial D.
You are, apparently, "the average of the people you hang out with the most." You will therefore get impetus by surrounding yourself with high achievers and those who "made it" in the field of your aspirations.
You will also find yourself caught in positive feedback loops, where each little achievement inspires you more and you come to see that mistakes are just teaching opportunities leading one step closer to your objectives.
At last, when you follow your aspirations, you encourage others to do so. I started The Jet Coaster and Drift Hunter in part because of all the emails I get from people all over informing me that I have shown them it is feasible to bring into life something they love.
